Connecting Your Wallet

Learn how to connect your wallet to Hype Pool from mobile, desktop, and hybrid.

Updated over 7 months ago

Hype Pool allows users to login to the platform using over 350 different wallets, including through Wallet Connect so you can connect through the desktop and mobile wallet application of your choice.

We will walk you through all the important steps to connect your wallet, and answer many of the top questions around the process, below.

Switching Your Wallet Network

The Hype Pool applications runs on Binance Smart Chain (BSC), which enables us to provide extremely low-cost transaction fees, fast transactions, and a deeply developed and supported chain for the highest security and safety around. BSC is also an EVM-compatible chain, meaning it is highly compatible with Ethereum technologies, including wallets.

Most EVM-compatible wallet applications will start the user on the Ethereum Chain by default, so these steps will help you to switch from Ethereum to BSC so that your wallet can connect to Hype Pool.

  1. First, open the wallet application of your choice on either your desktop browser or mobile phone. For this example, we will be using MetaMask on iOS.

You can see in the top of the screen that the network shows Ethereum Main Network.

A screenshot of the MetaMask application running on iOS, showing that it is connected to the Ethereum Main Network chain.

  2. Next, we will tap the network section to reveal other networks that our wallet can support. You should see Binance Smart Chain, Smart Chain, or BSC in this list.

  3. If you see Smart Chain already, tap the network and close the selector to continue.

If you do not see Smart Chain in the list, you can press Add Network to be shown a list of popular networks that can be added. Some wallets may not predefine this list for you, so alternatively you can visit BSC Scan and scroll to the bottom of the page for a 1-click button to add the network.

  4. Once you've selected the BSC network, you are ready to connect to Hype Pool!

Connecting Your Wallet

Connecting your wallet to blockchain applications is required for you to login to platforms, so this section will help you understand how to do this.

Our guide will use MetaMask on iOS, connecting via Wallet Connect, for demonstration. If you're using a desktop wallet instead, this handy guide from Binance provides details on various other ways to connect.

  1. You can connect your wallet to Hype Pool in 3 different ways:

    1. Pressing the Login button in the top right of the Hype Pool website

    2. Choosing Join Pool on any of the teams that you'd like to join

    3. Choosing Join Pool on the top game summary section

  2. Once you press either the Login or Join Pool buttons, a Connect Wallet popup will appear to give you an option of how you'd like to connect. For this example we will use Wallet Connect to connect our MetaMask app on iOS. For other methods, choose an option displayed and see the link above if you need additional assistance.

  3. Once you've ensured that you are on the proper blockchain network on your wallet of choice (see the previous help section), press the Scan QR button in your wallet to open the camera (browser-based wallets can skip this step).

  4. Scan the code displayed on your screen, and then press Connect to confirm the connection that pops up in your app. This enables the application to see your wallet.

A confirmation will appear telling you whether the connection was successful.

  5. Next, you will need to Sign a message that enables you to interact and transact with the Hype Pool application from your wallet.

  6. You can now verify that you're wallet has been connected by your wallet address appearing in the top right of Hype Pool, along with a Disconnect button.

That's it! Your wallet has been successfully connected to the Hype Pool platform, and you can begin staking, using social actions, and more!

How to get BNB

In order to transact on the BSC network, you'll need the native gas token, called BNB, which pays for the cost of your transactions on the network.

Many wallets, including MetaMask and TrustWallet, provide you with the ability to buy BNB directly through the wallet, when you've selected the BSC network. You can also buy BNB directly through many online exchanges, DEXs, and even directly with your debit/credit card using Third Party services.

Rather than give specific instructions for each method, we will provide links to a few methods with the official guides by the provider:
